On what can only be described as ‘Super Sunday’ at Penrith Golf Club, Damon Mallinson’s scintillating play left the field trailing in his wake. Returning a score of 74-16-58 in the morning round and with what can only be described as a disappointing 82-16-66 in the afternoon (by his own standards). This left him with a total of 124 and an 11 shot victory over James Taylor who returned a highly commendable total of 135 to finish a distant second. With the top eight qualifying for the gruelling 36 hole matchplay stages it’s hard to pick a winner but as he has shown, Damon Mallinson is surely the man to beat! The members Stableford was a far closer affair with Lee Challenger (43pts) pipping Richard Hellon (42pts) by a single point to take the spoils. A full list of results for both competitions are available in the clubhouse.
