Captains Drive in 05/12/2021.
Thank you to everyone who played, I would especially like to thank my playing partners, Phil Park, Scott Cameron and our new vice captain Javid Latif for making the day very enjoyable.
Congratulations to the winning pair of John Kelly and Stephen Johnson with an amazing score of 49 points!! Deserving winners of the Vice Presidents Trophy.
Apparently, having spoken to Derek Horn, in the clubhouse after the event, I set a new record of three attempts to drive in. Brian Hanson had to hit 2 drives when he drove into office in 1962 so my new record of 3 will be remembered for a long time to come! Maybe Javid will beat it next year!!
I have never been so nervous on a tee in my whole life, but congratulations to David White who booked every yardage from 35 to 120 yds… the successful drive flew 120 yards upwards and landed 120 yds away! And thank you David for the £10 donation to my charities. I would also like to thank David Harding for his £10 as well.
My charities this year are Eden Animal Rescue and The Salvation Army.
Eden Animal do an amazing job looking after and finding new homes for lots of pets.
The Salvation Army really looked after me when I was going through some awful times with my mental health situation, so this one is very dear to me.
I would like to thank also The Green staff for getting the course ready yesterday, Robin and Gideon thank you, and also Ricki and his team for looking after us all before and after the golf, and to Andrew for all his hard work setting up the competition and checking all the cards. Everyone’s help was much appreciated
I am so proud to be Captain of Penrith Golf Club, it is a marvellous honour and I am so looking forward to 2022.
